On December 6, 2022, NEPLP took the decision to revoke the broadcasting license for SIA “TV Rain” due to a threat to national and public security.
SIA “TV Rain” appealed the decision to the Court. On 4 July 2023, the Court made the judgement admitting that the NEPLP decision to revoke the broadcasting licence to SIA “TV Rain” is lawful.
The Court has noted that, in the particular situation, the decision to revoke the broadcasting license of SIA “TV Rain”, if the electronic mass media endangers national security or poses a significant threat to public order or security, was the most appropriate in order to prevent threats to the national and public interests.
